Winter Holidays (June to August):

Hluhluwe River LodgeSouth Africa:

The best winter travel options in South Africa are KwaZulu-Natal and Mpumalanga. Being the dry season both are good for game viewing (especially the latter half) with little trouble from mosquitoes. Days are sunny and warm while nights are cold and crisp. Look out for off-season specials throughout South Africa making a visit at this time of year very attractive.

Namibia:

Winter is the ideal time to plan a holiday to Namibia with sunny warm days and little or no rain - though night-time temperatures can plummet to below freezing in places. Visits to both the desert areas of the south and the game reserves of the north are experiences not to be missed at this time of year.

Botswana & the Victoria Falls:

The dry and sunny winter months are ideal for a visit to Botswana and the Victoria Falls. Game viewing is at its best along the banks of the perennial rivers of northern Botswana, and the waters of the Okavango Delta start to rise during the month of June making the mekoro (dugout canoe) the ideal means of transport.

Islands of Mozambique:

Winter is the driest time of year in Mozambique but also the coolest with average daily maximum temperatures of close to 25 C. However the sunshine is almost guaranteed and the water is warm, confirming Mozambique as true year round beach destination.
