It was my birthday a short while ago and as a surprise my wife organised for us to leave our children behind and drive the 20 minutes or so from our home to the other side of Table Mountain for a romantic night in Les Cascades de Bantry Bay. Les Cascades has long been one of my favourite accommodation options in Cape Town: stylish, intimate, welcoming, and the views alone are enough to make you never want to leave. Lying out by the pool with a glass of Cape Classique watching the sun go down over the Atlantic Ocean made us feel as if we were in a different country and after only one night here we left refreshed, rested and re-invigorated. Heaven!
