After a 2 night stay at Three Trees at Spioenkop learning about the famous battles that took place in the area and being surrounded by the Drakensberg Mountains you make your way to Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse, a ‘foodies’ paradise and charming guesthouse surrounded by crystal clear streams and the towering mountains of the Drakensberg. Continue to Fugitives Drift Lodge and spend 3 nights in the company of David Rattray's team exploring the battlefields of the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War. You now drive across Zululand to the exclusive Amakhosi Safari Lodge, "The Place of Kings" where a variety of eco-systems including savanna, wetlands and mountain, making it an ideal home for the Big 5 as many other different species. Your next destination is the unspoilt beaches of Thonga Beach Lodge from where you can enjoy scuba diving, turtle tracking (in season) and quality beach time.
